We continued on further east to the La Rioja region which is famous for its great red wines and mountainous country side. We stayed in a small town called Cassalarreina at a converted beautiful monestary and used our two days to do a little wine tasting and visit the surrounding areas such as Haro & Logrono. We also enjoyed some lovely Basque meals... northern Spain is well known as foodie heaven and the highlight was a plate of Pigeon with Foi Gras!
